About Us

Harald and Cathie are the proud owners and operators of Shady Rest RV Park. They purchased the Park in July 2017 after falling in love with all the beauty and tranquility that Houston, BC has to offer.  You'll often see Harald and Cathie accompanied by their furry companions, Jack and Sam. ( sorry Jack has passes away in January 2024)

Harald was previously a mechanic for 30 years.  If you happen to experience any issues with your vehicles, Harald may be able to offer some advice (or may even lend a helping hand in fixing the issue).  Sorry folks, he no longer offers tune ups and oil changes!  Fun fact: Harald  speaks German as a first language, and has enjoyed visiting with many European guests over the years.  

Cathie was previously in the hospitality business for over 20 years.  She later became a Porter Ward Aide at St. Paul's Hospital.  Today, you'll likely find Cathie busy helping guests in the Park or tending to the immaculate flower gardens in the Park.  Cathie is also a self-professed foodie who loves trying new dishes in the kitchen.
